If you’ve chose to download Ares, but haven’t been able to stock up on quite as much new music as you would like, it could be that you simply need to change the way you search. Here are three suggestions to boost your music discovery on the double:

#1: Find New Music When You Download Ares by Using “Advanced Search”

Every version of Ares features a comprehensive search function designed to help you narrow your results down to only the most relevant files. To find “Advanced Search,” go to the “Search” tab of Ares and type in the keyword for the file you are looking for. On the next screen you’ll see an option to search again using “Advanced Search.” Click this link.

From here, you can search for your file by keyword, author, date made, genre, size, file type, etc. If you still can’t find what you are looking for, try again in a few hours. It could be that the users who have the files you want simply aren’t online at that time.

#2: Find New Music When You Download Ares By Using the Chat Room

All of the new versions of Ares have a fully-integrated chat room where you can interact with the other Ares users who are online. When you enter the chat room, you’ll see a list of channels dedicated to a variety of different topics. Join one of these channels or start one of your own and question the users there if they have any suggestions for new artists you must try out.

#3: Find New Music When You Download Ares by Changing What You Search For

Let’s say, for example, that you have an interest in Latin Music but are hard-pressed to find anything beyond Shakira or Ricky Martin. Try doing a search for music in the genres of “Bossa Nova,” “Forró,” or “Nueva Canción” and see what you turn up.
